Associate – Investment Banking (M&A)

Cross Keys Capital, a leading middle-market sell-side M&A investment bank headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking a talented and driven Associate to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on deal experience in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment for a firm that was founded in 2002.
About the Role
As an Associate, you will play a critical role in executing mergers and acquisitions transactions across a variety of industries within the Generalist Group. You will develop financial models, analyze financial statements, prepare presentation materials, and support clients through all phases of the deal process. You will work directly with experienced senior bankers and have meaningful exposure to decision-makers, entrepreneurial owners and the C-Suite.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct industry and company research to support transactions
- Perform financial statement analysis and build complex financial models
- Support transaction structuring and negotiations
- Prepare pitch books, marketing materials, CIM’s, Teasers, and client presentations
- Collaborate closely with clients and senior team members
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated success via sophisticated internships and success in their college-level studies
- Exceptionally strong skills in financial statement analysis, Excel (including pivot tables), and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and ability to multi-task
- Solid understanding of the M&A process and transaction structuring
- Experience with CapIQ, Pitchbook and / or QuickBooks is a plus
- Ability to thrive in a high-demand, fast-paced environment (50–60 hours per week)
- MBA, CPA, or CFA strongly preferred; however, other strong candidates with at least one year of progressive experience will be considered
- Previous transaction advisory, public accounting or investment banking experience is a plus
- A nexus to South Florida is a requirement for most successful hires
- This is an in-office 5-day per week position; NOT remote
What We Offer
- Base salary $57,000 – $80,000 depending on experience
- Semi-annual bonuses targeted at 55 – 60% of base salary
