Staff Accountant/Operations Associate

Based in Palo Alto, Olive Partners Management and its affiliate Olive Asset Management (collectively, “Olive US”), previously known as Gopher Asset Management US, is the US asset management arm of one of the biggest wealth management companies in Asia, Noah Holdings Ltd. (“Noah”). Noah is a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Olive Asset manages approximately $26B AUM globally. This role shall report to the CFO of Olive US. This is a great opportunity for someone willing to learn and understand alternative investments and Registered Investment Advisor operational functions. This is a hands-on role for someone who is self-motivated and has the ability and desire to work for a successful firm as a team player in a small work environment.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- Liaise with fund administrator to process fund capital transactions, including capital calls, capital distributions, capital call confirmations and track, organize, and report on funding status.
- Assist in maintaining investor relations and communications in our CRM system.
- Assist on quarterly and year-end financial reporting for Olive US managed funds as well as broker/dealer business.
- Communicate with the Sales Team regarding investors’ financial/operational matters and any KYC requirements.
- Be responsible for expense allocation and inter-company settlements; point person to handle any AP tasks.
- Prepare support and documentation for outside auditors, tax advisors, custodian banks, etc.
- Office operational management and facilitation; assist with any investors requests as needed.
- Organize operation/accounting/compliance records and document accordingly for audit trials.
- Other department/firm-wide projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Min Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from creditable/reputable universities with a concentration in accounting, finance, or economics.
- Must have 2+ years in accounting, auditing or accounting related experience; experience with venture capital, private fund, or alternative investment management would be a huge plus.
- Must have strong attention to detail and good business sense.
- Must be self-motivated and proactive with a high level of operational and accounting efficiency, with the ability to multi-task and balance priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Top-notch business ethics and ability to maintain a positive and professional composure and attitude under pressure.
- The role requires fluency in oral and written Chinese, as it is a business necessity for this position, which requires communication with Chinese speaking investors and business partners.
- Must have US work authorizations.
- Experience with broker/dealer reporting/filing would be a plus.
