Job Summary:

Casey Family Programs is a $2B+ global portfolio that invests across all asset classes, namely public equity, fixed income, and private markets. The Operations Analyst is a key member of the investment team, responsible for operational processes such as data management, portfolio reconciliations, performance measurement and portfolio analytics. The candidate will work closely with the Sr. Performance Analyst and report directly to the Sr. Director, Investment Operations. This position requires extreme attention to detail, exceptional time management skills, the ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to a changing environment, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. The successful candidate must have a growth mindset and be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

Operational Management (65%)

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of asset manager valuations and returns to Custodian
  • Monitor cash account balance daily and reconcile discrepancies with Custodian
  • Assist the Sr. Performance Analyst with various tasks related to investment transactions, cash, and performance reports
  • Implement asset manager on-boarding process ensuring all internal and external systems are accurate and complete
  • Submit new account and market opening requests to Custodian
  • Facilitate class action filings alongside ISS
  • Work closely with Finance on the annual audit process as it relates to investments
  • Interact with other Casey departments, as needed, on investment-related issues/matters
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsels, 3rd party software tools such as Dynamo, eVestment, and Bloomberg, data providers, etc.
  • Assist senior team members with performing Operational Due Diligence on asset managers
  • Monitor requests from investment managers and liase with investment team member responsible for the relationship
  • Manage the team’s SharePoint site, liaising with our technology department on issues, implementing changes/updates, ensuring data integrity and security, and continually looking for ways to improve / upgrade the system

Reporting (20%)

  • Prepare monthly Flash Report for Board
  • Prepare monthly Total Fund reports for internal risk meetings using eVestment, Bloomberg, Custodian, and / or Dynamo
  • Ensure accuracy in data feeds from Custodian to 3rd party tools such as Dynamo. Reconcile issues, as needed
  • Implement data visualization using Tableau or Power BI dashboards

Special Projects and Other Duties (15%)

  • Lead the assessment of processes, policies, and procedures. Conduct process effectiveness tests and recommend improvements
  • Identify workflow/improvements and work with Sr. Director, Investment Operations to implement
  • Maintain logs and checklists related to operational activities to ensure they are updated in a timely and accurate manner
  • Administer the team’s record retention policy and manage the team’s file room

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ of accumulated professional experience
  • Self directed, proactive individual with a strong work ethic
  • Agility to effectively operate under tight turnarounds with a focus on quality and consistent execution
  • Outstanding and effective communication skills
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in project management, with skills necessary to interpret what is needed for the success of a project and to create appropriate schedules for timely delivery
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in an environment requiring judgment in managing internal and external interactions. Ability to deal tactfully and equitably with people and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • This is a regular full-time position that may require work weeks in excess of 40 hours with some travel.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, text, and figures; ability to type utilizing a computer keyboard; ability to travel to outside locations; and the ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function. The salary range for the role is $119,000 to $154,400. As a mission-driven organization, Casey strives to balance competitive pay with our mission. New hires salaries are typically between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint of $132,400. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate’s job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.

Casey Family Programs offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision coverage, accrual of 12 days of annual leave, 12 days of sick leave,10 paid holidays per year, and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care. After the completion of 10 years of continuous, full-time regular employment, employees in good standing are permitted for a three-month sabbatical with pay.
