Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Research in New York, NY

Create and maintain earnings, valuation and industry models. Draft research reports for initiations of coverage, analysis of data, earnings results, and industry news. Conduct in-depth analyses of the global semiconductor industry and U.S. semiconductor companies utilizing advanced research applications. Facilitate financial analysis of semiconductor companies, including financial modelling and qualitative analysis. Interview U.S. Semiconductor companies and key global players to further understanding of the global semiconductor industry. Collaborate with global colleagues on research reports to communicate view on semiconductors to clients and corporates. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $200,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Political Economy, Economics, Financial Economics, or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as a Research Analyst, Securities Analyst, or a related occupation. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Equity analysis including performance trends, and valuation; Industry analysis; writing communication on market trends and changes; research presentation; Excel data visualization; data cleaning, prep, and sorting; algorithms and data structures; and actionable investable ideas. Requires one (1) year of experience with: Financial modelling; semiconductors; accounting; and Excel vlookups. Requires any amount of experience with: Excel pivot tables; and PowerPoint.
