The Investment Associate will work in conjunction with Advisors and Associates to manage/trade client portfolios, perform research on behalf of the Investment Committee analyze client and prospect portfolios, and develop internal investment content. The candidate will be servicing all clients of the firm.




Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed; it is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and additional duties may be assigned.


  • Maintain high standards for serving both clients and advisors

  • Assign model portfolios, execute trades, and rebalance portfolios using our portfolio management system

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on Tamarac and rebalancing portfolios, diligently working to support client portfolios and ensure an efficient and accurate rebalancing process

  • Support the management of centralized portfolios by proactively recommending trades and monitoring accounts

  • Reconcile, enter, download, and update data in rebalancing, account aggregation, and portfolio management software systems

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and best practices across all trading and portfolio management activities

  • Applies investment knowledge to analyze portfolios, contribute to research efforts, and draft watchlist notes

  • Participate in the firm’s Investment Committee

  • Serve as a back-up for other investment team workload (performance reporting, billing, account onboarding, etc.)

  • Demonstrates efficiency in working with multiple advisors across multiple sites by leveraging firm resources and tools

  • High degree of pride in the accuracy and quality of your work product

  • Client portfolios are in balance and properly assigned and managed to their model allocation

  • Provides accurate trade recommendations and is on the path to independently trading client accounts in accordance with client investment objectives

  • Ensure that the firm does not incur trade errors




Industry/Business Experience

At least 4 years of experience in trading, portfolio management/operations, or a related investment operations role within the financial services industry.



Education

College degree in Finance, Investments, or Business, or comparable experience.

  • Strong interest and understanding of investments and portfolio management

  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Comfortable learning and navigating new technology and software applications. Experience with Tamarac, Salesforce, YCharts, Morningstar is a major plus.





Requirements/Additional Information

  • Starting base salary range: $60,000-$100,000, with the opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus up to 10% of earnings.

  • Within 2-3 years, the Investment Operations Associate will be encouraged to obtain an advanced investment designation

  • This individual will report to the Director of Investments

  • The first 90 days will include an extensive onboarding/training program.

  • After the first 90 days and with the manager’s approval, the candidate may be eligible to work from home for a specified number of days per month.
