Investment Associate

Grey Rock Investment Partners is a private equity fund based in Dallas, TX. Grey Rock manages approximately $1.3 billion of institutional capital and focuses on investments in unconventional plays across the United States.

Granite Ridge Resources, Inc. is a publicly traded energy company formed in 2022 from the consolidation of the first three Grey Rock Investment Partners’ funds.

About the Role

The Investment Associate will be an integral part of the Natural Resources business development team at Grey Rock and Granite Ridge, responsible for conducting financial analysis on weekly deals and evaluating new investment opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with CEO/CFO in preparing investor presentations and materials
• Model out individual transactions and expected portfolio cash flows
• Construct investment memos and lead investment committee presentations
• Perform detailed analysis on economic assumptions, drilling pace, capital costs, etc. to properly understand economic returns of projects
• Perform market research on macro energy trends
• Analyze public operator filings, presentations, and data
• Support technical team

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or a related field

Required Skills

• 2-4 years of experience in an upstream oil & gas role required
• 1-2 years of buy-side investing experience strongly preferred
• Strong financial modeling experience
• Experience engaging with investors and preparing investor materials
• Familiarity with Enverus, IHS, Capital IQ, Bloomberg
• Self-starter with ability to own workflows and manage tasks independently
• Takes pride in presenting a high-quality work project with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to new tasks
• Strong communication skills to coordinate responsibilities and gather information across multiple departments (land, accounting, engineering, finance)
