Job Description
Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc. (OAM) is seeking an Associate Director, Fund Accounting to join their Accounting & Administration Alternative Investment Finance Group in New York.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with the third-party administrator and prime broker for the funds to ensure timely receipt of monthly/quarterly NAVs, reviewing and verifying fund expenses, and accruals at month/quarter-end
- Calculate and approve all wire movements from/to Prime broker/Custodian and funds
- Analyze and evaluate daily margin requirements for hedge funds
- Review management and incentive fee computations
- Tracking and payment of invoices related to the group of funds
- Prepare annual budgets for the group of funds and monitor the fund expenses and expense ratios
- Collaborate with the fund’s auditors and administrators at year-end to ensure annual financial statements are completed on a timely basis, as well as liaise with underlying fund managers to obtain quarterly capital statements for the underlying investments of the P.E. Funds
- Coordinate with Investor Services Group for the quarterly mailing of Capital statements, Capital call letters as well as Distribution letters.
- Assist with all Regulatory filings during the year for the registered and offshore products
- Coordinate tax-work with the tax administrators: ensuring K-1 estimates and finals are prepared timely, and that tax returns are completed and filed on time
- Handle Ad-hoc projects as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 4 to 5 years’ experience in back-office accounting, tax, and administration function within a Hedge Fund and/or Private Equity Environment
- CPA preferred but not required
- Experience working with a Fund Administrator
- Possess a high degree of proficiency with technology including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
