General Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Chief Investment Officer, the Senior Investment Portfolio Manager is responsible for leading, coordinating and evaluating all data to ensure CTPF’s investment goals are being met. The Senior Investment Portfolio Manager provides efficient and effective management of the Fund’s alternative assets.

Job Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and monitor private and/or public market investment managers to ensure contractual, compliance, fiduciary, and investment responsibilities to the Fund are being attained.
  • Oversee the preparation of reports and information presented to the Board of Trustees, Investment Committees, and various external auditors, regulators, and government authorities.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend and manage investment strategies to facilitate and achieve the execution of CTPF’s investment policies and goals.
  • Perform due diligence on prospective investment managers for the CTPF portfolio.
  • Lead and manage the content delivery and discussion at First Look meetings, conferences, association meetings, and client annual meetings.
  • Build internal controls over investment performance reporting.
  • Manage and provide investment related data for year-end audits and financial statements.
  • Assist Chief Investment Officer on various projects as required.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide direction to Investment Portfolio Analysts.


Position Qualifications

  • Robust analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with an investment team and in a cross-departmental environment.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-asset class portfolios and evaluating complex investment opportunities, including secondary pricing and sales of fund investments.
  • Experience in the entire investment lifecycle, including sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring, risk mitigation and liquidity planning.
  • Ability to effectively manage, mentor, and evaluate investment staff.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Accounting or related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree, CFA, and/or CAIA designations strongly preferred.
  • 10-15 years of private market investment manager sourcing experience.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office.


Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will likely sit for long periods of time, with some standing and repetitive physical activity.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.


Environment

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, and photocopiers).
