Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. CSIM delivers a wide variety of products including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds within Schwab Asset Management (SAM). The overall SAM team embodies our firm’s commitment to providing client-centric solutions that help Schwab clients achieve their financial goals.

SAM is seeking a Junior Fundamental Equity Research Analyst who has prior experience covering healthcare. The analyst will join a collaborative team to assist in our active, fundamental, bottom-up research process and participate in the management of the ThomasPartners strategies as well as some active equity mutual funds.

Key job responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Assume coverage of the healthcare sector, develop insights into portfolio holdings as well as uncover new opportunities within the sector
  • Develop and maintain detailed company forecasts, company and industry-specific drivers, price targets, and actionable ideas
  • Assist the research team in ad hoc projects, research administration, and systems
  • Support client services and sales teams’ inquiries

What you have


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience covering healthcare with a buy-side or sell-side firm
  • Bachelor’s degree and CFA and/or MBA
  • Experience with bottom-up security analysis
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Factset, and other related software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid accounting and financial statement/KPI modeling abilities
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, ability to discuss and explain involved concepts in finance and mathematics in both verbal and written form
  • Quick learner, comfortable dealing with ambiguous, fluid situations
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to make good decisions when faced with complex or ambiguous data
  • Passion, integrity, creativity, inquisitiveness and self confidence
  • The candidate should be a self-starter, well organized, and be able to work in a collaborative, team environment

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
