Job Description
The Senior Project Financial Analyst will support finance-related deliverables for Enterprise Technology projects and or/programs. This person will work closely with the existing Program Management team to support detailed financial tracking needs. Functions include assisting in financial budgeting/planning, tracking actuals vs forecast and AOP, preparing accruals, reviewing financial proformas, conducting financial forecasting, and liaising with project owners to ensure delivery is within budget.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with appropriate business and functional partners to support and manage project financials for multiple active programs or projects
- Track detailed financials based on the project plan, commitments, contracts/SOWs, invoice management (day-to-day financial management of project spend)
- Prepare and update financial plans, forecasts, and other forward-looking financial reviews while proactively identifying issues and providing commentary
- Manage quarterly close activities and prepare quarter/year-end close entries; work with Accounting to prepare accruals, reclasses, prepaid expenses, and various journal entries as necessary
- Lead presentation meetings with project leaders concerning monthly forecasts and actuals; includes variance and cause of change explanations and effective storytelling that influences decision-making
- Review project proformas prior to routing for final approval and maintain Clarity Cost Plans for projects within their portfolio of projects
- Serve as point of contact for project financials inquiries/needs, and conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting as requested by leaders and/or the Finance Consolidations team
- Assist in conducting weekly BOT support hour sessions, and monthly training sessions regarding EnTech finance processes and functions
- Provide input on project accounting/finance process improvements
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of Project Controller (Sr. Financial Analyst) experience managing technology programs
- Experience managing multiple project financials, priorities, and tasks across teams
- Proficient in preparing detailed monthly financial project/program reports and leading meetings
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillset with a creative mindset for increasing efficiencies and automation
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel – proficient in developing pivot tables, graphs, and Excel formulas
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Clarity PPM
- SAP experience (pulling Actuals and other reports)
- Experience working for a large company and within a matrix organization
- Experience supporting technology organizations
Required Education
- Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Technology and/or a related field
- Project management skills (PMI Certification or equivalent a plus)
The hiring range for this position in California is $103,400 to $126,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
