Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Private Equity Analyst / Associate with at least 2-3 years of investment banking or private equity experience to join our lean and dynamic team. The Associate will play a key role in all aspects of the investment lifecycle-from sourcing and due diligence to execution, portfolio management, and exit strategy. This is a hands-on role with direct exposure to senior leadership and operating partners across a wide range of sectors including property management, title services, landscaping, construction support services, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full investment process including sourcing, underwriting, modeling, due diligence, and execution of new investments and joint ventures.
  • Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct financial modeling and valuation analysis (DCF, LBO, public/transaction comps).
  • Evaluate strategic add-on and M&A opportunities within existing portfolio companies.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance and support management teams with financial analysis and strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in identifying, evaluating, and managing external operating partners and joint venture relationships.
  • Support the development of business plans, operational KPIs, and go-to-market strategies for new ventures.
  • Collaborate with internal Reef teams (Real Estate, Lifestyle, Finance) to align operational businesses with project timelines and needs.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitive dynamics, and sector-specific opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus but not required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, or principal investing.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience drafting investment memos and presenting to investment committees.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and workstreams.
  • A strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A, and private equity investment structures.
  • Experience in real estate-related industries, operating businesses, or lower middle-market deals is a plus.
