We are recruiting a bright, highly proficient individual with superior finance knowledge coupled with a strong interest in the infrastructure sector to join our Infrastructure team in the London office as an intern. This is a six-month internship/fixed term contract.

The Piper Sandler Infrastructure team focuses on a wide variety of subsectors including transportation, energy and energy transition, renewables, utilities, telecom, and social infrastructure.

The interns will work closely with junior and senior bankers in the team to make a real impact on our clients’ business through involvement in all facets of investment banking activities including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, equity and debt offerings, and strategic advisory work.

Core Responsibilities:

·         Contribute to a wide range of transactions, including sell-side and buy-side deals, financings, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds.

·         Engage in a dynamic mix of execution and client engagement activities, including: financial analysis, due diligence, process management, and liaising with client deal teams.

·         Gather and synthesise quantitative and qualitative data

·         Conduct industry and company-specific research and financial analysis of potential business opportunities

·         Project administration and due diligence

·         Facilitate the preparation of client mandates which involves Teasers, Confidential Information Memorandum, Management Presentations and other investor materials

Skills and Experience:

·         Currently studying or recently graduated from a top-tier university, preferably with a background in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Business, Finance or Economics

·         Previous experience (e.g. internships) in Infrastructure sector or in Corporate Finance from either a bank/ boutique advisory firm or the Corporate Finance, Modelling and Valuation, Transaction Services groups of a large accounting firm is desirable

·         Exceptional analytical ability, quantitative skills and financial modelling experience (e.g. operating models, merger models, LBO)

·         Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to multi-tasks and prioritise workloads

·         Positive work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative, and leadership potential

·         Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word)

·         Proficient writing, verbal communication and client facing skills

·         Acts with integrity, highly motivated with an eagerness to make an impact to the team

·         An interest in Infrastructure
