Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities’ Capital Structure Advisory Group is a leading advisor to companies, investors and other stakeholders navigating complex financial situations and financial distress. The Capital Structure Advisory Group is a critically important strategic initiative for Guggenheim Securities, which in 2018 acquired Millstein & Co., a leading advisor to companies, investors, sovereigns and municipalities and other constituencies in special situations involving financial distress.
The Capital Structure Advisory Group offers an unparalleled opportunity to work as part of small client teams on major liability management, restructuring, and financing assignments. Associates will work on a range of assignments including both Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court transactions. Our Associates play an integral role throughout the life of a transaction and have meaningful exposure to senior bankers and client representatives. Given this highly visible role and the complex nature of financial restructuring assignments, Associates will have the opportunity to develop a diverse set of financial, analytical and communication skills.

Essential Job Functions
- Lead day-to-day project management and execution on a broad range of advisory and financing transactions, including developing and overseeing detailed financial and accounting analyses
- Perform due diligence of companies, including generating and managing financial and operational diligence requests, conducting tours of company premises and operations, and discussing diligence questions with management and employees
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and company-specific information (including liquidity, financial metrics, capital structure and credit documents) in order to identify potential client solutions
- Analyze current and past accounting and financial records in order to advise clients through financial projections preparation; prepare, review and participate in client presentations
- Integrate strategic ideas derived from various analyses, forecasts, business plans, and research into presentations for various stakeholders
- Help prepare and contribute to deal pitches including idea generation and identify, research, and analyze restructuring and financing opportunities
- Build and develop relationships with clients through ongoing engagement and demonstration of financial and industry knowledge
- Manage and develop junior staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a restructuring group, workout group or leverage finance group is highly desirable
- Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as a team interfacing with top company executives and senior management
- Highly organized, with the initiative and ability to work with limited supervision
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Effective process management abilities
Basic Qualifications
- Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Core modeling and valuation experience in professional setting
- 3+ years of experience in investment banking, accounting, consulting, private equity, hedge
- fund or corporate finance
- SIE Exam, Series 79 and Series 63 must be acquired within 150 days of employment
Work Location
- Currently, this role is expected to be in the New York office at least 4 days per week.
Salary
- Annual base salary between $175,000 and $225,000.
- The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. Actual base salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components such as incentive compensation.
