About the Company:
The Phoenix Fund is a Puerto Rico-based private equity fund that seeks to invest in income-producing private companies and is seeking an experienced accounting professional with proficiency in investment modeling, forecasts, market research and reports.
Job Overview:
The Fund Financial Analyst collects and interprets data, such as company financial statements, operational updates, initial and supplementary documentation, etc. The Analyst is also responsible for organizing and documenting discussions related to new investment opportunity considerations as well as regular portfolio company discussions. Additionally, the Fund Financial Analyst is a key participant in investment analysis including financial modelling and industry and market research and reports.
Job Summary:
The Fund Financial Analyst is responsible for independent thorough studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, financial modeling, forecasts, and financial plans of prospective and existing portfolio companies. Analyzes key business trends, actual versus plan variances, as well as other financial indicators, to develop presentations to influence decisions.
Essential Functions:
· Collaborate with business partners across business units to classify, quantify, and/or forecast business metrics & risks by providing reliable, accurate, comparable, and timely information.
· Analyze, organize, and present information for decision making to management.
· Support automation and enterprise consolidation of data used in monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
· Assess quality and integrity of data collected, analysis performed, and reports generated.
· Lead the development and analysis of potential investment forecasting models.
· Request and receive budgets, quarterly and midyear forecasts, and other financial information from Portfolio Companies; interpret, summarize, and upload forecast information to financial systems to provide information about the progress of the investment.
· Articulate findings on a regular basis to management.
· Assist in designing, developing, and producing standard monthly, quarterly, and annual performance analytics.
· Produce routine and ad hoc financial operational models to support senior management in decision making.
· Collaborate with other departments and/or client in special projects as required.
· Comply with all Fund’s policies and administrative processes.
· Support the Investment Department in other functions as deemed necessary.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Proficient in database and computer programs.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Fluency in Spanish and English
· Good people skills and presentation skills are vital.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Great attention to detail and the ability to make sound judgement calls under time pressure are also important skills. Must be able to respond quickly with recommendations.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Engineering.
· MBA or CPA/CFA or similar certification preferred.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
