Position Summary
The Alternative Investments Associate will works in alignment with the AI Team to establish appropriate policies and procedures for monitoring and researching new investment opportunities for the BSI Alternative Investments Area.
The Alternative Investments Associate reports to the Director of Alternative Investments.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Commercial
• Actively collaborate in the development of the commercial model and procedures within Alternative Investment.
• Analyze managers funds, and different investments within all segments of Alternative assets (PE, VC, RE, Credit, HFs).
• Supports the commercial follow up with the different offices (Houston, San Diego, Bahamas and Geneva)
• Develop and maintain the pipeline of Al, distinguishing structural Pipeline and Short Term Pipeline
• Plan and communicate business trips between AI and Commercial teams.
• Responsible to follow up actions/engagements of AI team and Bankers after business trips.
• Support the development of activities of AIh with other areas within the Group, in particular with: Private Banking (Spain, Mexico, Brazil and Chile) and SGBM
• Measure quality of service provided to Commercial Area.
• Create decks and present to management, committees, commercial teams, and clients.
• Generate periodic reports and analyze performance of products in alternative investments platform.
• Provide tools and information, using a quantitative and qualitative analysis, that will help to evaluate the performance of the department of AI.
• Analyze competitors and their best practices.
Marketing
• Coordinate with Marketing team all the activities with clients, providers and other units of the Group related to Private Wealth.
• Collaborate in the elaboration of Alternatives Investment newsletter, presentations, reports and other internal communications.
Development
• Provide support to the Commercial Area in the implementation of new products and Services.
• Collaborate in new projects where Alternative Investments is involved.
• Actively contribute with ideas to improve the efficiency of the Department using the knowledge of the bank and UHNWI sector.
Other
• Support/coaches lower-level individuals within Alternative Investments.
• May coordinate special projects.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
5-7 years of relevant experience or demonstrated required level of proficiency
Individual contributor
• Fundamental understanding of financial markets, wealth management and alternative investment research.
• Strong investments research skills and understanding of alternative investment strategies and products.
• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
