The Houlihan Lokey Corporate Finance business has extensive expertise in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, activist shareholder and takeover defense, and other related advisory services for a broad range of clients. In addition, we have the proven ability to engineer and execute financing solutions that are essential for growth and success and offer access to financing in the public and alternative capital markets through the issuance of debt, equity, or hybrid securities.
As trusted advisors, our industry-specific groups provide us with a deep understanding of our client’s business and positioning before we are even engaged in a transaction. Scope
The Corporate Finance team is looking to add a Financial Analyst in Sydney.

Financial Analysts work on transactions that provide exposure to various advisory services, including M&A across Sponsor, Public and Private M&A, with a strong focus on sell-side transactions.
Responsibilities
As a Financial Analyst, you will:
- Prepare, analyze and help explain historical and projected financial information
- Create financial models
- Coordinate and perform business due diligence
- Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
- Conduct research on sectors, companies and potential buyers
- Value companies and businesses
- Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients and prospective clients and professional advisors
- Assist in planning of engagements

Qualifications
If you have the following qualifications & experience, we’d love to hear from you:
- Strong Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 1-2 years of full-time investment banking experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). Experience within transactional services, consulting or corporate development also considered
- Demonstrable experience in executing sell-side transactions
- Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory / strong financial acumen and technical insights
- Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
- An excellent understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and hit deadlines in a highly organised manner
- An independent, solutions-focused mind-set
