Investment Banking at Maxim

The Investment Banking division provides growth capital and general financial and M&A advisory services to public and private companies in the small to mid-cap market sector. We specialize in deal origination and complete 150-200 transactions annually in the public markets, including IPOs, PIPEs, CMPOs, Registered Directs and debt offerings as lead manager and/or co manager.


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced investment banker with a proven record of success in public equity and leveraged finance. The ideal candidate will have an existing book of business with deep client relationships, must be capable of generating/executing new business, and have a keen understanding of the process. The candidate will become a key component of a full-service Investment Banking team. We are looking for individuals in a variety of industries including but not limited to TMT, Software, Consumer, Energy, Industrials, and Real Estate.


There is flexibility in the geographic location - Candidate does not need to be NY based


The compensation for this role is P&L driven.


Job Responsibilities

  • Developing strong relationships with clients and working across different products
  • Work on deals and transactions including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises
  • Liaising with other departments to cross sell opportunities
  • Leading client negotiations, Q&A process, and management interviews
  • Working with clients on long term value creation strategies including financing, spin outs, reverse mergers, and acquisitions


Ideal Qualifications

  • At least 10-15 years of investment banking experience
  • Deep client relationships with an existing book of business
  • Public equity and/or debt financing experience
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Confident self-starter identity
  • Series 79
