Foundations Investment Advisors, a nationally recognized leader in retirement income planning and investment management, is seeking an accomplished investment executive to join our leadership team as Managing Director – Portfolio Strategy. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives at the intersection of investment theory, tactical execution, and client-centric innovation.
About the Role
As the Managing Director – Portfolio Strategy, you will oversee and drive the firm’s investment strategy, leading a high-performing team of 10–12 traders. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will be responsible for developing and implementing portfolio construction frameworks that align with our clients’ long-term financial objectives. You’ll also serve as a key liaison between our investment division and client-facing advisors, ensuring our offerings remain dynamic, compliant, and rooted in fiduciary excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the portfolio strategy function, including asset allocation, risk management, and investment model development.
- Manage and mentor a team of traders, ensuring efficient trade execution and adherence to strategy.
- Partner with advisors and stakeholders to translate market insights into actionable portfolio decisions for clients.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and deliver performance reports that support transparency and continuous improvement.
- Stay ahead of macroeconomic, geopolitical, and regulatory trends to ensure the investment platform remains innovative and competitive.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, internal strategy sessions, and industry events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in institutional investment strategy, portfolio management, or trading leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate across departments in a fast-paced, advisor-focused environment.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, portfolio theory, and risk analytics.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex strategies for clients and advisors.
- No formal licensing required, though relevant credentials (CFA, MBA) are a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $200,000.00 - $400,000.00 per year
